Amaechi wants to chase me out of APC but i will not leave for anybody, says Abe

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Senator representing Rivers South-East in the Senate, Magnus Abe, said some heavy weights in the party, are scheming to shut him and his supporters out of the party, but maintained he will not leave for anybody.

The delegates congress of the APC in the Rivers over the weekend, has worsened the fragile peace in the party. Supporters, who are loyal to Abe boycotted the congress, alleging that the party manipulated the outcome of the congress in favour of a faction of the APC.

They accused the planning committee members of moves to manipulate the result of the congress in favour of a faction of the party, loyal to Abuja without conducting an election.

Speaking in Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital, Abe said that the events that unfolded were clear indications that some individuals want to chase him out of the party.

He said the National Convention Committee that was in the state to conduct the Congress election had reached agreement with his supporters in the presence of the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Zaki on the outcome of the congress.
