Former Governor of Delta, James Ibori said he will return to Nigeria in a couple of days.
This follows the removal of all Legal constraints against his return by a London High Court which turned down pleas by the Home Office to technically hold him back in the UK.
Ibori at the end of the court hearing, said he would be home in days but without being specific.
A press statement issued by his media aide, Tony Eluemunor, said Tuesday’s case was to determine the amount of compensation the British Government would pay him for holding him in jail for an extra day.
The Home Office had last December sought to hold him back at the expiration of his jail term on December 20, 2016 on the claim that the confiscation hearing of assets traced to the former governor had not been concluded.
The court, however, rejected the restraining order, a decision that made Ibori to seek compensation for the extra day he spent in jail.
