Ibani returns as Speaker of Rivers House of Assembly
Amidst the passage by the Rivers House of Assembly of the N470bn appropriation bill presented to the lawmakers on Wednesday by governor Nyesom Wike into law, the Speaker, Adams Dima has stepped aside for Ikuyi Ibani.
It would be recalled that Ibani handed over to Dima as Speaker ahead of ruling by the Appeal Tribunal on a case challenging his election. It was therefore no surprise to many when Dima handed over back to him following his re-election into the House.
However, Dima before handing over also swore in ten members elected after the December 10 re-run. Ibanii was among them.
With the new development, the All Progressive Congress, APC is now part of the House as a minority party with five members sworn in.
