Irate youths in Ede believed to be supporters of late Isiaka Adeleke, the first civilian Governor of Osun, shortly before his burial on Monday, mobbed Idiat Babalola, a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Babalola had visited the town to attend the burial of Adeleke, who before his death was a Senator representing Osun West.
However the intervention of Ogun Governor, Ibikunle Amosun with the assistance of security personnel present at the home of the deceased, saved what would have turned bloody as they ferry her out of the residence.
The furious mob also threatened to prevent Osun state government officials from attending the burial.
Adeleke died on Sunday morning after suffering heart attack. Youths of the town who had earlier attacked journalists, alleged that the notable politician was poisoned.
The Newsroom learnt that Adeleke had interest in contesting the 2018 governorship election in Osun.
