Pwajok ignited fire in Plateau PDP and use it as excuse to decamp to APC - Mwolwus

Pwajok ignited fire in Plateau PDP and use it as excuse to decamp to APC - Mwolwus

Alexander Mwolwus, former Special Adviser (Political Affairs) to former Plateau Governor Jonah Jang, has described the defection of Edward Pwajok from PDP to APC as “too hasty”.

“Pwajok’s defection was too hasty, his political calculations were wrong,” Molwus, who also served as Chief of Staff to Jang’s predecessor, Joshua Dariye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Pankshin, Plateau state on Friday.

Pwajok, Justice Commissioner in Jang’s administration, who currently represents Jos South/Jos East constituency at the House of Representative, defected to the APC on the floor of the House on Wednesday.

The lawmaker cited the division in the party as his reasons for jumping ship.

But Mwolwus, who faulted Pwajok’s claims that the state chapter of the party was divided into factions, wondered why he (Pwajok), took no step to bring peace to his own house.

“If Pwajok claims that he left because there was an in-house fighting in Plateau PDP, what steps did he take to bring peace to the party?

“What we know is that he ignited the fire in the Plateau PDP using some of his aides, only to turn round to use that as an excuse for his defection.”

He said, however, that Pwajok would not be missed as the party would be “happy to part ways with those responsible for the internal disagreements”.

Contacted, Pwajok denied ever causing any trouble in the PDP.

“I just chose to sit down and watch what was going on. I only decided to leave when i could not cope with the confusion.

“The in-house fighting kept getting messier by the day and i had to defect in my best interest,” he said.
