The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said President Muhammadu Buhari is more anxious than any Nigerian to return home and resume his duty.
The Minister who was reacting to ongoing protest in Abuja for the President to resign over his health status, spoke in a telephone interview with on air personality, Moyo Oyatogun on Rainbow FM.
He said Buhari has not breached any part of the Nigeria’s Constitution because he successfully transmitted power to his second in command, Yemi Osinbajo now Acting President before leaving for medical attention in London on May 7.
“What is happening now is unlike what happened some years back where the late President Umaru Yar’adua who was sick at the time, did not inform Nigerians that he was sick not to talk of transmitting power to the then Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan.
“You cannot compare oranges with apple,†the Minister added.
While noting that the protesters have the right to protest within the confinement of the law, the Minister advised “the few bunch of protesters†to concentrate their energies on profitable ventures.
The protest put together by civil society groups, enters day two on Tuesday.
