Anti-Tax Protest Killings: APRA condoles Kenyans, expresses solidarity with Colleagues in PRSK

The Executive Council and Members of African Public Relations Association (APRA), has condole with all Kenyans in general over the recent violent crisis that happened in the Country.

The deadly crisis following Mass Protest against a Finance Bill that was to increase Taxes, had resulted in loss of 13 lives according to the last count by the Kenya Medical Association.

Police had reportedly opened fire on Protesters mainly Youths who had gathered at the Kenyan Parliament on the first day of the Protest.

The Protesters had launched a massive opposition to the Bill across the Country.

Following the development, APRA in a Statement issued and signed by its Secretary General, Omoniyi Ibietan, says it also stands in solidarity with its Colleagues in the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

“We urge the Government of Kenya to put the People of Kenya first and in a show of conversational capacity as already indicated by the Presidency, undertake Stakeholder Consultations with empathy and an openness to reconciliation.

“We commiserate with the Families of those who died and wish a speedy recovery to those injured during the Protests.

“We fervently pray for the repose of the Souls of the deceased,” the Statement concluded.

Meanwhile, President William Ruto, had since bowed to the wishes of the People by calling off the controversial Bill.
