The National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday reiterated its commitment to end Oil Theft in the Country.
The Chairman of the NEC Sub-Committee on Crude Oil Theft, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo, told Journalists shortly after meeting with the Chairman of NEC, Vice President Kashim Shettima, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Sub-Committee was constituted in December 21, 2023 following deliberations on critical Economic matters and assessments of potential Short-Term, Medium and Long-Term Strategies for addressing pressing Economic issues.
Uzodinma said that the Sub-Committee was working assiduously to address Oil Theft which he described as a “monster.”
“I come to welcome back the Vice President From the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and you know he is the Chairman of NEC.
“I came to give him an Interim Briefing arising from the Sub-Committee on Crude Oil Theft that I am chairing on behalf of NEC. So, we had a very positive discussion. It’s still a work in progress.
”We are addressing it. At the end of the day, we are going to bring a final solution to this monster called Crude Oil Theft,” the Governor assured.
