The saying that all men cannot go in the same direction aptly applies to this as Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose fails to join others at the outpouring of goodwill messages to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. Fayose said Obasanjo never sees good in other people.
Idowu Adelusi, his Chief Press Secretary, quoted Fayose as saying to journalists on Saturday after visiting Abdulsalam Abubakar, former Military Head of State.
The Ekiti governor advised Obasanjo who’s celebrating his 80th birthday to emulate Abubakar who was working for the unity and stability of the country.
“Former President Olusegun Obasanjo must take a cue from somebody like General Abdulsalam Abubakar who are working for the unity and stability of the country,†he said.
“President Obasanjo must behave like a true statesman. ‎His major weakness is that he does not see anything good in other people or what they do except what he does himself.â€
Abubakar congratulated Fayose on his election as the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
He also commended Fayose for the various developmental projects being executed in Ekiti while adding that democracy needed a virile opposition to thrive and make progress.
He revealed that he had been reading about Fayose’s activities as a leading opposition figure in Nigeria.
